I can barely believe that I have been doing this blog series for a whole year now.  It only seems like yesterday that I took my first ever family photo of the 4 of us.  It’s been an incredible experience so far and capturing our little famalam growing up over the year and also helping me build up some confidence in using my camera at the same time… so thank you to all the lovely hosts of the me & mine project for spurring me on to capture these moments.

Well, that was January.. not quite sure what happened there.  Pretty sure I just blinked, but it’s gone.  Here’s what we got up to…

Life With…The Family

Well it’s been a rather busy month of getting back to normal and slotting back into day to day life, which I’m rather fond of.  It all seemed we’d made our plans, found our groove, when we got knocked by the passing of my lovely Nana.  At 90, and with her health going downhill, I can’t say it wasn’t expected.  However, I don’t think we expected it quite that quickly.  She did good and hung in there until those from far and wide came to say their fond farewells (including us), before passing the next morning.

Munch was quite upset by it.  It’s so difficult to explain these things to a 5 year old, so we were as honest as we could be about it and we have since drawn pictures, written notes and sent them up to heaven with some balloons.

It has been difficult with being self employed to find the time to come to terms with things.  I’ve written before about how getting sick isn’t allowed…well neither is compassionate leave.

MM started to walk this month, which is just the cutest thing to see.  I can hardly believe that she will turn 2 this year!  She is still in 6-9 month clothes, so very much a baby in our eyes, but not for long!

Life With…The House

New Year… fresh page… no excuses… THIS HOUSE WILL BE FINISHED THIS YEAR!  I’ve said it out loud, so you can hold me to it!

I am beyond fed up with unfinished rooms.  If you remember, our kitchen was fitted last January and still doesn’t have the soft close hinges installed on the doors…need I say more?!

I’m finding solace in the rooms that are looking the most finished and trying to finish off those that are 99% of the way there with bits and bobs.  Here are some of the accessories I’ve picked up lately:

If you caught my instagram stories, you will have seen a sneaky peek of my office (far from reveal ready!!) so I plan to share that soon on the blog.

That’s it for us this month.  What have you been getting up to?
