In the last house, we had the simpliest of gardens. Simple because it consi
sted only of grass! Never knock a new build for simple all year round gardening! It was always our intention to do more, but we never got round to it before we sold up.
Fast forward to our new home and we now have a vast, rolling, country garden. The previous owners have nurtured it over the 7 years they were here and it is rather unmanageable for us. So project ‘easy maintenance’ will be getting deployed this summer.
One key factor for our garden is standing up to the seasons. The previous owners left us a huge list of what gets pruned and when (bless them) but those borders are just rammed and it’s too much. So we will be ripping out lots of plants and waving goodbye to those demanding country garden plants in favour of something a bit more manageable.
If like me, you don’t know the first thing about all gardening, then the lovely folks over at Wonderlawn have come up with a great guide showing what plants are easy to keep and stand up to the British weather.
With the help of this guide, I’ve been pinning some inspiration to my Project Garden board over on Pinterest…take a peek!
