I’m now in my thirties (shhhhh, don’t tell anyone) and I’ve seen alot of friendships come and go in that space of time.
I suppose it was a given that when I moved some 200 miles away for university, I wouldn’t be able to keep in touch with as many high school friends as I perhaps would have liked to. Note that this was in the age before social networking and free text bundles (dare I say dial up internet was all the rage too!)
However, here I am a few decades on. Through marriage, jobs, multiple house moves and a child, I have lost a few friends alone the way, but the best ones stick around. You always meet the nicest people when you least expect it and the people who have been through your high and low points in life, for whatever reason just drift away.
