Last week saw the tour of the guest bedroom so this week it’s time to show you where I rest my weary head after a long day…the master bedroom.
If you didn’t already hear through twitter, we put our house on the market last week and I’m rather shocked, excited and terrified to say it sold within 48 hours. I promise to get through all the rooms before we move out (not that we have found anything yet!)
Now, if you are a regular reader, you’ll know about my love for mustard yellow, so it may come as no surprise that this features in the house somewhere!
This room was decorated soon after we moved in (2010) and I’m still in love with the colouring.
Our bed is a Superking and dominates the bedroom. With a comfy cream leather headboard, it’s edged in walnut veneer to match the bedside cabinets. It sits alongside the feature wall, which is Sanderson 50’s wallpaper range. I adore my bed and being in it, so we have a memory foam mattress, which I love, but hubby hates.
What I love Most About This Room
Apart from my bed, I love the finishing touches that complete this room, such as my cushions on the bed, the throw (the softest throw ever!) and my little flower arrangement on the window.
I have a bit of a thing for drum lamp shades, so I had to have one in our room as well as the guest room. This time a white one, which has a slight shimmer to it. There are also another 2 things I love about our bedroom and these are:
Ok, so I quite like browns and greys, can you tell?! We were lucky enough to be able to pick our tiles from the builder before moving in, so we are really happy with this room. It could use a kick of colour though.
Bedroom 4 was right next door to our bedroom and it was always on our plans to convert this room , so we moved the door and got in the lovely team from Hammonds.
This quite literally is my dream room and quite possibly the thing I will miss the most about the house when we move. It’s not a perfect match to our bed, but far enough away that you wouldn’t notice.
I hope you have enjoyed a peek at another piece of my home. Look out for another room next week!
