Those wildly magical, yet sometimes trying, 14 days together are long gone… The glistening decorations are tucked up safely and nestled away for another year… The school is open and the nursery too. Normality has once again creeped back in and there is something i find quite therapeutic about the ‘rut’. You see, I love a routine (no surprises there!) Years ago I wrote a post about how I became obsessed with organisation and how (looking back) easy it seemed at the time. As a singleton, I had a small 1 bedroom flat that I deep cleaned every night (steam cleaner, the works)…easy when you have the floor space of a postage stamp and you’re only cleaning up after yourself! January is stereotypically a month for decluttering and organising every aspect of life. I’m a big believer in tidy house, tidy mind (which is perhaps why I’m feeling out of sorts, as we’re living on a building site at the moment and I’m finding the mess rather overwhelming).
