This might seem odd for someone who puts their life on the internet, but I’ve always struggled with confidence. I spend my life avoiding having to go places on my own… I love familiar things, people I know, places I’ve been before and Internet shopping has been a God send. You might think that writing blogs, posting instagram pictures or even having a YouTube channel says otherwise, but even in this I have built up confidence over a period of time. I started off with a private Instagram account… I don’t vlog about anything horrifically personal and well it’s easy to sit behind a computer screen and tap away at a keyboard. Blogging events on the other hand… Eek! I even spoke on a panel at one once… Well I maybe said a few words, the other 3 amazing ladies propped me up! One thing I do is push myself hard to do these things, because I do want to push the boundaries.Continue reading
Being well and truly in my mid thirties is a rather terrifying thought. I think it’s the same for any decade… That mid way point to the next milestone that sends shudders up your spine. There’s certainly something wonderful that comes with every decade. In my twenties it was fiercely career and life milestone led… Couldn’t wait to find someone and settle down, climb that property ladder like snake up a trouser leg and start a family. Basically hitting all those life milestones that society say you should hit.Continue reading
How can I start off this post and not mention the weather… We are meant to be heading into spring and it’s definitely a case of false sense of security by mother nature. Always a card up the sleeve there eh! Well let’s get into our February update, as I’ve had enough snow chat to last me the year.Continue reading
If you know me well, you’ll know I’m a MASSIVE Volkswagen buff, so I was in my element at the thought of an adventure in a Volkswagen California… Which for those of you who don’t know, the California is the modern day Volkswagen iconic Campervan.
Given that we are based up North, it made sense to venture to the Highlands & West Coast of Scotland. Aviemore is somewhere we both frequented as children and so we had to pop that on the agenda for nostalgia sakes. It really hasn’t changed in the 15 odd years since we last went. But we went on explore Glenmore, Fort William and based ourselves near Glen Coe in Ballachuish for the large part of our trip.Continue reading
Let me just preface this with the fact that I’ve never 100% felt confident about my style. Thankfully I grew up as a teenager in the era where “Sweater Shop jumpers” were actually a thing. But I took it to the next level and wore them all year round. I was horribly scrawny as a kid, so I did my best to cover up as much as possible… Please note that wearing 15 pairs of black tights will not make your legs look thicker!
I probably only found my “style calling” when I wore business suits and tailored work attire all day. This I felt comfortable in. It was easy to pair up, you could go from day to night in it and ultimately it was a smart safe wardrobe. I didn’t roll onto the supermarket from the office or even nursery runs thinking “gosh, I look awful”… Totally safe for every eventuality!Continue reading
